Documents issued in the US to be used in the Netherlands

A so called apostille stamp is the appropriate proof of legalization since both the US and the Netherlands are part of the 1961 "The Hague Apostille Convention"*.

Where to get an apostille in the United States

In the US, State Departments issue apostilles, the process varies per state.

* Official name of The Hague Apostille Convention is: "Convention abolishing the requirement of legalisation for Foreign Public Documents", 5 October 1961.
