All nationals who intend to stay in the Netherlands for more than 90 days need a residence and/or work permit. Even if you intend to stay less than 90 days, you might need a visitor visa for the Netherlands. Please check the visa information under the 'Other citizens' section of this website.

Registration at the resident administration in the Netherlands
When moving to the Netherlands, you are obliged to register at the resident administration ('bevolkingsregister') in the Netherlands. All residents in the Netherlands have to do this at the city hall of the municipality where they (are going to) live. More info >> Registration - Change of Address

When moving to the Netherlands it might be useful - apart from your passport and visa/work permit papers - to bring along a legalized birth certificate, marriage certificate etcetera for each of your family members. You might need this to register at the residency administration and/or schools or universities.
